The Weather Service Forecast Office in Great Falls, Montana has forecast programs for public, aviation, hydrological, and fire weather interests. Forecast operations begain in 1953 at the Great Falls International Airport. Public forecasts are for a 50,764 square mile area stretching east of the divide from the southwest tip of Montana northward to the Canadian border.
