Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting –

- Constructed in 1994, the Airport Fire Station was a joint project of the Airport Authority and the Montana Air National Guard. The design was influenced by the firefighter’s needs for visibility, efficiency and response time. The structure is located atop airport hill and overlooks all runways and taxiways on the Great Falls International Airport in Great Falls, Montana.
Occupied by the Montana Air National Guard Fire Department, the station is manned 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The primary mission of this fire department is to provide Aircraft Rescue and FireFighting (ARFF) to all military and civilian aircraft utilizing the airport. In addition to providing ARFF protection, the department also responds to structural fires, medical emergencies, technical rescues, and hazardous materials. A mutual aid agreement established with the City of Great Falls, Cascade County, and nearby Malmstrom Air Force Base allows off-site responses to these jurisdictions upon request.
